A completed application is required, including Unit, Block, and Lot number, as well as the physical address of your lot.
Make sure all of your corners are clearly marked.

NOTE: All power extensions in Costilla County are now placed underground, except when there is a variance granted by the County.



There is a $75 fee and an application form. It is helpful if you can tell them whether or not there is a telephone pedastal on your property.

Blanca Telephone also provides internet service through JADE COMMUNICATIONS. Fiber Optic available is some areas of the ranches.

Road Service:

Fort Garland Shop: 719-379-3446 (Most Ranch Areas)

All of the roads (except driveways) in the Ranches are county roads and are regularly graded and maintained by county road crews. During the winter, roads serving full-time residents are plowed for snow as necessary.

For most areas of the ranches, owners can contact the Fort Garland Shop for grading, snow road repair issues or to replace road signs.

Owners with property on the Southern most regions of the Ranches should contact the San Luis Shop.

2 Garbage Bins no more than 55 Gallons each will be accepted

This will cost you approximately $22.00 a month for the service


Fort Garland Public Trash Dumping

On the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month

Fort Garland trash dumping is open to the public

Highway 159 to Road GG, Fort Garland

Behind railway tracks and Commissary Hardware Store in Fort Garland

Bag up your trash or other items you wish to get rid of and they will charge you accordingly.

Example for a family of 4:

Trash dumping at the depot between 6 to 10 bags of household waste, will cost you between $12.00 to $15.00.
